Parenting with “God” Day 2

Day 2 of 280

Remember this is from Parenting By Design from youversion.com

Today’s topic is Discipline, Character and Hope

refers to verses

Romans 5:3-5

3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

It speaks of how when our children are in a difficult spot we as parents want to rush in a save them or direct them as to how to get out or not get in that type of spot again. It explains that by us taking that type of stance that we actually hinder our children’s learning, that we can cause them more harm than the difficult spot can.

If we want our children to learn, to have a strong character and have hope and faith in their selves to be able to do things from simple to difficult then we have to allow them to struggle through some difficult times. There are lessons to be learned from the trials they face just as with us….

I struggle with this myself as a parent, so I know this is not easy to sit back and watch your child struggle with something. However as a single parent of three children, two of which are considered special needs due to disorders they have.  I have had to learn that I do need to let them struggle on their own in order for them to learn and grow as  person…. Does it make it any easier “NO” it does not but I know to be a good parent, a parent who truly cares about her child’s future I have to let them struggle and figure things out on their own…..

I must have faith in God that he will carry them through it in his time just as he has done for me all of my life….

Thanks for checking in today, hope to see you back again soon…

Have you heard God’s voice today? If not he asked me to tell you that he loves you and can help you too, all you have to do is ask him….

Have a God filled day….
